Presence of a metal crown(s), abutment, tooth with large amalgam filling, metallic instrument very close to the implant may prevent correct implant localization or reduce precision. The Implant Locator should be placed as far from these materials as possible if present.
There are also rare cases where very thick tissue layers (>5mm) or bone (>2mm) covering the implant may prevent correct implant localization or reduce precision. This is a rare instance, but can make the Implant Locator not work with exact precision.
